Problem with headphone jack

In May I bought a second hand MacBook Pro 15” Retina mid 2015 which works perfectly.

Today, for the first time, I wanted to use headphones and found that the plug will not go fully in - the final portion remains visible. I tried them on another M-B Pro and there is no problem I also tried other headphones on my M-B Pro but none of the plugs goes full in.

Is there a quick fix or must the M-B be opened? I didn’t receive any headphones with the M-B Pro. Is it possible this model uses different ones to iPhone 5S and iPad 2 ?

All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Neville

If it isn’t going in fully I would try taking non-conductive ESD safe tweezers and 99.9% isopropyl alcohol on some cotton held with the tweezer and gently start digging for dirt and dust.

Caution! Do NOT push the tweezers in with force in fear of actually damaging the headphone jack anymore than it is.

With Luck,

Blake
