Hi all, I have two A1278s with working logic boards, but there are both working in one of the two A1278s only... The other one refuses to boot: If I press the power button, nothing happens, really nothing, it charges the battery, thats all. I took off all connections of the logic board to check what could be defective part, no chance. Any idea? Can the power button be defective? Thank you.

Swap the top cases and see if the problem remains.

What do you mean with top caseS: I know only one top case: The one with the keyboard integrated. Which is the other? And what shall I do with the displays? Keep them or swap them too. BTW this gives again a lot of work...
Simply means try swapping key boards, it is possibly that a key is giving you a short.

To bypass the power button:
With the back of your macbook open and the screen hinge faced towards you, the 'two solder bumps' that you need to short together are located on your side of the trackpad connector that plugs onto the logic board. To help locate the trackpad connector, to the left you will see a flexible flat cable which is the keyboard cable, and to the left of that, the RAM.
