locked ipad unable to use

I have a used ipad air. If you replace the logic board will that disable the look screen on start up so it can be used. The previous owner of the tablet did not unlock it.

Im sure the iPad is iCloud locked as well. If you were to wipe the iPad, it would most likely need the iCloud info to setup. If you purchase another logic board, make sure it’s not iCloud locked. The passcodes are tied to the software (digit code that can be cleared with a restore) or iCloud locked which is a hardware lock basically. Also, unless you find a good deal on a logic board, Id probably buy a good used Air. Logic boards are usually expensive.
