Does the MacBook Air have a PRAM Battery?

When I first bought my MacBook Air, the battery was completely dead. I used CoconutBattery and determined that it needed to be replaced. The time would always be set back to December 31, 2017 at exactly 7pm. With the new non-apple battery assembled in June of 2018, the MacBook Air would shutdown after a bit and the time would get reset to the mentioned time again. I launched CoconutBattery and it states it’s been through only 1 load cycle, despite the fact i’ve charged the battery several times now. I performed an SMC and PRAM reset with no luck. Battery is compatible with this specific MacBook Air model, as i have checked with the description and the seller.

There is no PRAM battery in this series.

The LiOn battery has a special tap to supply a trickle voltage to hold the settings.

Where did you get the battery?

I kinda thought it wouldn’t have a PRAM battery, thanks for clarifying. Here is a link to the exact battery I got:

You'll need to get a replacement from them.

I don't suggest buying batteries from an unknown company on Amazon.

After having the MacBook Air shutdown while plugged into the outlet, I'm starting to assume it's more than just a battery issue. Could there be a possible board fault?

Why don't you give CoconutBattery a try to see what it tells you. Post a snapshot one with the MagSafe connected and one not so we can see whats happening here Adding images to an existing question
