I was having the same problem and the iFixit diagnosis, i.e., that there was a problem with the pickup roller was correct! Here is a guide to cleaning or replacing your pickup roller from the HP web site: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c0.... My problem was solved just by removing and cleaning it.

I believe there are maintenance kits for these models which are usually expensive, but more times than not it’s the pickup roller. Try another toner as well. I have seen in certain printer models where the toner can cause jams.

The User Manual (which you can get online) recommends:

  • Cleaning the pickup roller with a lint-free cloth and rubbing alcohol. Just tried that and it enabled my printer to grab 3 pages one after the other (instead of jamming after just one).
  • Alternatively, replacing the pickup roller. I see you can order some on Ali Express. Haven't tried that yet.

In the meantime, a temporary solution is to stand by the printer while it prints and manually load one page at a time.
