PS3 disc drive issue

Hi all,

My PS3 Slim wouldn’t read/eject discs properly until i rebooted the PS3 or it would make a loud noise whenever reading a disc. I decided to open the PS3 bueray drive, take out the disc that was already there , clean the optical laser lens (carefully) and then manually reassembled everything carefully (cords connected etc)

Now when i turn on the PS3 the blueray drive is extremely loud like a fax printing machine and doesn’t accept any discs at all. Should i replace the optical laser lens or do i need to re config the disc gears?

Completely replace the disk drive.

I had a broken disk drive on the ps3 and did everything to fix it.

May not be the same case but it’s much easier to just replace it. Pretty cheap.

What site do you use to buy your parts?

Just use ebay. What model is your playstation? Should be on the bottom of the PS3 or back of it.

If you tell me I may be able to look up and assure you buy the right one.
