How to load Norton Secure VPN

I have a Fire HD 10, 7th version. I want to load Norton Secure VPN on it (I already use it on my desktop and Android phone). I’ve downloaded it to the Fire tablet, but it only opens for a second or two when I select the icon, and then closes . Can I get it to work? If so, how? Thanks for any words of wisdom

Hi,

I suspect that the Norton Secure VPN Android OS app is not compatible with the Fire OS.

The Fire OS is an Android “based” OS and is not the same as the standard Android OS version.

Norton does not provide an app or program for the Fire OS.

You may have to use an app from the Amazon website that is compatible with the Fire OS.

Norton VPN is incompatible with Fire OS, that is why you are having this issue, as jayeff said in his answer.

However, IPvanish is compatible with your tablet. I use it when I go to Mexico so I can trick my TV streaming app to think I am in the USA when I am in Mexico. It’s also great for hiding your web traffic. I think you will like it just as much as Norton’s VPN.

Thanks for the replies. I actually was able to install it on my tablet after installing Google Play Store (per instructions on the web) and then downloading it from there. As far as I can tell, it is working fine. I will only truly know if it is working when, as Aaron notes, I'm out of the country and use it to access my TV streaming app.

I had terrible results with ipvanish. it cut my d/l speed to a quarter of what I would get if I turned it off. not sure why everyone is so hot on ipvanish.
