My dvdR jammed in & cannot eject, what to do?

DVD-R doesnt show on the desktop & I cant force eject...what are some things can I do?

Go to Applications--Utilities Launch Terminal.app type drutil eject then press return.

I had this same problem because my roommate put a DVD in the drive while one was already in there. I took off the back casing, took out the drive, and pulled both DVDs out (I didn't even know two were in there until I pulled the drive). Now my DVD player works fine again. A bit of a pain (15-20 screws to take out) but worth not taking it to a shop.

True, but the procedure you used will disable the J key.
