My trackpad is not clicking
My trackpad is not clicking sometimes
I have noticed in the last two months, my laptop seems to not click with my trackpad. It would make click sound but not actually click.
However, i had a bluetooth mouse and it was still not clicking. If i restarted my computer, it would work though, funny enough i left it like that since my wife has a macbook laptop too. Just last week, i turned it on and it was working properly but i already had an appointment booked at the genius bar.
After going to the appointment, as expected he said that i would need to replace whole top case as with a new battery as it comes together.
This is what i got from quote;
Issue: Customer reports trackpad and keyboard intermittently respond
Steps to Reproduce: Verified in store. Opened the device and found corrosion on left side of trackpad flex cable
Cosmetic Condition: Dent to clamshell top right corner
Heavy chips to clamshell top left corner
Light scratches to bottom case
Proposed Resolution: Replace the top case at out of warranty cost due to physical damage such as liquid damage.
If further damage is found further cost will apply.
Mac OS Version: 10.14.x

Now i am thinking to do it myself, or doing it with apple it self, or go to a macbook repairer shop for a quote.
Thank you everyone.
Is this a good question?
