Dropped laptop, display dark, backlight seems OK

I recently dropped the laptop, but there are no visible signs of damage.

The laptop boots up OK, works fine with an external monitor. Backlight seems fine too (little apple lits up, can change brightness, ...). However, I cannot see anything on the LCD screen. I also tried using a flashlight, but to no avail.

Do you have any suggestion what could be the problem?

Kind regards,

M.

Try reseating the Display Data Cable. Was the unit open or closed on dropping?

Will try with the Display Data Cable. It was open on dropping.

Hows your screen alignment with the bottom case?

I followed 50+ steps for Display Data Cable guide and managed to fix the problem.

It seems that the cable wasn't properly seated in the first place. The fall finally took the cable out of the plug.

I have to say, it was a scary and exhausting experience with so many steps, screws and cables. I couldn't do it without such a great guide. Thanks guys.
