Touch 4th gen. not working after screen replacement

I have an ipod 64GB 4th gen. with cracked screen. It worked fine. Now I have replaced the digitizer/lcd and put it back together but it does not work. Does not show up in iTunes. I can not imagine what I have done wrong. I took it apart again and carefully put it back but did not put the screen on, just attached the cable. So I wonder.

- Do I have to have the screen on and the iPod assembled to get it to show up in iTunes? Did this before and did not have to close the iPod.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hello, anybody ever experienced this? Opening an iPod Touch and it does not work anymore?

Guess what. After some weeks in the grave this 64GB iPod Touch rose again to life. I plugged it in and it charged and woke up and is fully working. I still have one 32GB dead. Will keep posting as maybe this is a common symptom. These 4th gen. Touches are something unique in many ways..
