Knocking sound in a 1996 5.7l vortec

I don’t have any problems out of the motor, when it’s cold, but when it warms up a knock starts and it goes from 40 pounds of oil pressure to when warm about 0-20 idling or moving and the more gas i give it the louder the knock is and it lowers the oil pressure.

Answer this question I have this problem too

You have a bad bearing. If you keep driving it without repairing it you are likely to get a connecting rod through the side of the block. You first need to pull the oil pan off and see if it a rod or main bearing. It sounds like a rod bearing a you could get by just putting in a new rod and crankshaft, that is the budget deal but I would recommend at the least put in a rebuilt short block and the best option is a rebuilt long block. If you are skilled you can rebuild it yourself.

Have you tested your oil pump. Not sure if they go out at once or slowly. It sounds like when it gets hot your pump isn't working at full capacity, many time for a new one.
