Trackpad not working - A1502 13' late 2013

Hi

Trackpad not working - A1502 13' late 2013

I just want to know if this will also affect the keyboard, because I seem to be having keyboard issues as well. The keyboard freezes for 0.5 seconds time and again. Not sure if this might be related to the faulty trackpad.

Planning on replacing the trackpad soon.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Did you ever truly resolve this? Did you have a virus or did you replace the flex cable that annoyingly runs under the battery =[

This is actually a very common issue on the A1502 Late 2015 models where the trackpad cable goes over the battery and rubs against the back case causing it to go bad.

Can you confirm your MacBook Pro Retina is not the Late 2015 model by inputting the serial number of your mac here on this linked webpage?

Its possible you just need to clean it and reseat it or just replace it MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Late 2013-Mid 2014) Trackpad Cable

Hi Guys

Thanks , tried reseating the cable but that didn't work , so bought a new cable so will see once I replace the cable.

model is mid 2014 , 13 Mac Pro

the link you sent is the exact cable it uses. (The cable that runs under the battery when you open the back )

so if your tracpad doesn't work, then it will affect my keyboard ?

Did you end up solving this problem? If so, what did it? I have a similar problem - keyboard is fine but my trackpad doesn't respond how it should. Jumps around or barely moves when I try to move it. Clicking works fine if I can get the pointer eventually to what I am trying to click.....

This can be caused by a virus. Get a good “Paid For” virus protection program such a Symantec Endpoint Protection.

I have fixed three MBPs in the last month by removing virus.
