Possible to recover data from waterlogged Nexus 6p?

I have a Nexus 6P.

I fell while crossing a river, and the phone died.

it's sitting in a bag of dessicant right now, butt I don't have high hopes.

Worst case: I have a dead phone, and there's some files on it I'd like to pull off.

How hard is it to get files off a dead 6P?

Thanks!

Well, if the data is encrypted, it’s pretty much impossible unless the phone can be repaired. If you remember disabling encryption when you setup the phone, then it can be recovered via Chip-Off data recovery.

At this point, the sooner you get the phone out of the desiccant (which does nothing but allow corrosion to take hold) and into the hands of a competent micro-soldering repair shop for a proper decontamination, the better.
