psp 1000 automatically turns off when ac charger is plugged in, works

I bought a psp 1000 on ebay, broken screen. I replaced the screen and shell. after doing this bought a dummy battery and charger. everything works great with just the battery, the problem is when I plug the ac adapter into any outlet it turns right off and does charge, when I try to turn it back on the green light comes on for a sec and then turns off, if I unplug it, works fine. HELP

Hi my psp1000 has just started to switch off on me. I switched it back on and its fine until game loads then knocks off. Ive tried different games always the same problem. But now the screen or sound doesnt even come on and the green light stays on for a bit then goes off. I have tried it without the battery from mains same problem even tried a new battery. Any ideas as to what is wrong

It could be a problem with the battery or adapter. It is more likely, however, that something is wrong with your motherboard. I'd recommend first trying a different battery in the device. If that doesn't work, try using a different outlet and different charger. If the probably keeps happening, you'll probably have to replace the motherboard to fix it. If you want to go down that route, this guide will get you to the motherboard for replacing. Otherwise, you'll probably just have to resort to only playing when it's not charging.

how you ever heard of this problem, the funny thing is it charges fine but as soon as I plug it in it turns off, otherwise everything works great, charger and battery is aftermarket, going to order a different charger because even without battery and only charger it does the same thing, thanks

well,

It could be the Power fuse going if the fuses are similar setup to the DS - On a DS if F1 is blown it will work from battery but not AC.

Anyway here is a fuse guie you may want to have a quick look at:
