My Ethernet board got zapped by a lightning surge
The computer works fine except I have to use airport, nothing from ethernet port.
Is this a good question?

If repairing the ethernet port feels like too much, you could get a USB to ethernet adapter. I've seen reports that the Apple USB-to-ethernet adapter sold for the Macbook Air ( http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB442Z... ) will work with Intel Macs running at least 10.5.2 -- and I'm testing mine right now on a Mac Pro running Snow Leopard, and it's working fine.

yeah according to the comments their it'll work with 5.2+
Good plan--the only other solution I know of is to replace the logic board. Ralph
Although this is not an answer, I'm just going to state that this is why it is necessary to use surge protectors, invest in one so that it does not happen again.
