hey

I have macbook pro 13" ( mid 2009 model 2.53 gh) and I have problems with the fan ( noise ) .. So, can I replace the fan with the new one ( like mid 2010/early 2011 fan ) .. it'll work on my mac or not ?

thanks

If you decide to replace your fan, use Apple part number 661-4946. This fan works in Macbook & Macbook Pro - A1278 - MacBook (13-inch Aluminum Late 2008), MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2009). Do a web search and buy a new one as the used ones may already have a lot of wear and are subject to failure faster. Using another fan may involve changing the plug to the logic board. If the fan is screeching, replace it. If it's just making a little noise, lift the sticker and place a drop of high quality oil in the center.

+ on point - However I would suggest using graphite instead of oil to lubricate it.

I agree with Cellers, graphite would probably be better

what type of problem mean to say your mac's fan running at full speed when you powered up the mac. if yes then you have a thermal sensor problem. otherwise just take out the fan and clean it porperly and clean the heatsink valves . it will help you . fans are same in the 13 inch macbook pro or MacBook models .

You need to replace the fan with the same model. But I also suggest you to clean the fan firstly, maybe that will solve the problem.

I'm using a 2012 Macbook Pro Fan on a 2010 Macbook Pro... so I have to assume the answer is yes. As long as the fan connector is the same.
