Why does my MBP switch to the battery even though it is plugged in. It will go back and forth from Electricity to battery (the MagSafe Power adapter will switch from amber to green) the screen will go black for a second and it renders the function of the computer useless.
I have had it for exactly one year and this has only happened 3 or 4 times but it is very annoying.

Most likely a bad AC adapter or a bad MagSafe port. You can probably take out Apple Care right now if it's exactly a year. Go here: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD014L... Is there a reason you waited till the last day when this has happened 3 or 4 times WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY?
