Replaced lightning port, but no sound from headphones

I replaced my lightning connector yesterday with new part; everything seems to work except for the headphone jack. The phone recognizes that there’s a headphone plugged in, and the controls work, but no sound comes out.

Even the mic works, so not sure if it’s a bad part or if there’s a bad connections somewhere; any help would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure connection on board side is getting full contacts it will only take 1pin to stop headphones from working.

If after you are encountering the same problem i would swap back your old port temporarily not need to remove full flex just click it in and test headphones.

This will allow you to determine if you have a faulty item.

Tried old connector as recommended. The old one works, but the new part doesn't. I'll request a replacement part from ifixit parts shop. Thanks!

Count the rings on the headphone plug, 3 rings? 4 rings? try different ‘rings’ headphones.
