Hi,

Connect a USB mouse to the laptop so that you can navigate through the PC.

If Win 10 is the installed OS, right click on the Windows Start button (left side of Taskbar) and select the Device Manager link in the options box.

Check the status of the laptop’s touchpad mouse in Device Manager > Mice and other pointing Devices. Hopefully there should be 2 entries there. One for the touchpad "mouse" and the other for the USB mouse that you connected to get there

If there is a red cross next to the touchpad entry, right click on the entry and select enable and then check if it is working.

If there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the entry, right click on the entry and select Properties and check the status message in the General tab view and then try updating the drivers (see below) depending on the status message.

If there is no entry in Device Manager for the touchpad, select Device manager > View tab > Show hidden devices and then check again or look to see if there is a main device type called “Other Devices” and see if it is listed in there.

If it is not to be found at all in Device Manager then you could try downloading and installing the latest Asus Win 10 ATK Package and Smart Gesture drivers and see if this resolves the problem. Take heed of the Notes: near the top of the webpage regarding the installation of drivers. Also do not be tempted to update all your drivers from this link, as it may confuse the issue if you run into problems. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it ;-)

Also ensure that you install the ATK Package drivers first, before installing the Smart gesture drivers.

If they don’t install you may have to uninstall the old drivers. Go to Control Panel > Programs and features

If this also doesn’t work, you may have a hardware problem
