Hi,

Try using the earphones with the microphone attachment or use the phone in loudspeaker mode, when you make or receive a call.

If you can’t be heard when using either of the above methods then there is a problem with the voice transmission circuitry of the phone.

If you can be heard OK then the voice transmission circuitry of the phone is OK and there might be a problem with the phone’s internal microphone or perhaps the voice inlet hole, found on the bottom edge of the phone (you don’t state the model number) may be blocked with lint or debris.

To check the latter possibility, use a strong light and a magnifying glass to inspect the voice inlet hole.

If it is blocked (or even if you can’t tell) DO NOT use a pin or probe to try and clear the obstruction, as you may damage the microphone which is directly behind the hole.

Use a vacuum cleaner instead to try and clear the obstruction.

If you still can’t be heard after trying this, the there may be a problem with the internal microphone. It may be faulty or it may have come loose from the systemboard.

The phone would have to be opened and the fault further diagnosed as to the cause.
