ribbon connection under black tape over it goes where?

On the back of the lcd screen, upper right under black tape is a ribbon connector with #593-1090-A on it. I’m putting screens on to other imac’s and the ribbon’s not on the other new one or the old broke screen either. ribbon has 4 contacts on the end. can anyone tell me where it goes and if i need to use it?

that is your V(ertical)-sync cable. It connects to your LED driver board iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2389 Display Replacement step 5

It may help if you post some pictures of your panel etc., that way we can see what you see and it may be easier to figure out what you are after. It sounds like you are saying your old LCD panel did not have this cable.
