Why did 5th gen ipad stop working.

Replaced screen, lcd and home button after son dropped bowling pin on device.

Charged up a little, Powered on and checked for screens working. Everything worked (except for home button)

Noticed home button ribbon cable was in backwards and that case was bent right by lighting port.

Was able to push case back into place. Now iPad will not boot up.

What could the cause be?

Was the iPad booting up prior to the repair but after the bowling pin damage? That’s an important distinction.

The problem here is that you have a lot of variables, many parts were changed at the same time and it’s never 100% clear if the replacement parts are fully functional or not (never assume they are…). That’s why I ask if the device still “worked” despite a cracked LCD etc. If it did, then you could go back and install the original broken parts (if possible) to see what works and what doesn’t. What you need to do is determine if the problem is with the replacement parts or the logic board.

Yes it worked after replacement parts.

Open it up again and make sure the home button cable did not come unplugged

That may be the cause
