Screen contrast changes while moving the lid
Hey guys,
My screen started to change the contrast if I move the lid. usually, it gets messed up if the lid is close to 90%. More than that, looks fine. My external monitor is fine, so my guess is that the LCD cable is sort of broken, so loses contact. Does that make sense?
I'm out of warranty and brought my computer to an Apple Store. They told me “it's a screen problem” and would charge me $800 for a full replacement. I said that everything is fine with the screen and it must be the cable and asked them to take a look and let me know if they can fix for me but of course they said no.
Anyway, I'm about to buy this cable (MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Late 2016-2019) Display Cable) and try to fix it. My question is if changing the cable is something easy to be done. I used to build my own gaming PCs back in the days but I confess I'm a little concerned to open this MacBook since it's my work device and I need it everyday.
Any help would be appreciated!
Best,
Gus
Is this a good question?
