[t440p] My Trackpad is dead but change it did not work. What can I do?

Hi,

this one is a long story.

Something like three moth ago my TrackPad started to randomly freez and a reboot or just reload the psmouse module “fixed” the problem.

When these freeze start to be too annoying I decided to disassemble and reassemble the TrackPad. The result was a big failure: the TrackPad definitely stop to work.

The only way to make the trackpad recognized by the os was to push quite hard on the center of it. So started to think that the trackpad itself was broken and I ask to a friend of mine to borrow his working one. Nothing.

Can it be a motherboard problem? If yes How can I check it?

p.s. Take in account that during the last plug and unplug I broke the connector( here some I broke a flat cable socket. How can I fix it?) and before send my laptop to the repair shop I want to be sure that I am not wasting money

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

See if your battery is swollen and pressing on the bottom of your trackpad. If so replace it.

The main battery is fine and it is in the opposite side of the case.
