Why does my engine shut down while driving?

I have a 1998 Accord,2.3 liter.I will be driving along whether in the city or on the highway and it will just shut off.If I depress the clutch on the highway I can usually restart it.

It will also cut out on me often while just trying to start it.But not always.

I had an ignition interlock device removed recently. Is it related?

The 1998 Accord was recalled by Honda for this problem. The contacts inside the ignition switch wear out and causes the engine ignition system to be shut off. It can usually restart the engine immediately by putting the car in Neutral and turning the key off and on but to be

safe pull over to the side of the road and restart the car.

Recalls are good forever. Call any Honda dealer and they will replace the ignition switch on your car at no charge.
