Is my iPhone water damaged?

for the last year i have been working in a produce cooler. 38 degrees and lots of moisture. the iphone was out in the open functioning as an ipod for myself and my coworkers. lot's of wet hands touching the phone and plenty of moisture in the air. the phone has been a little better in the last couple of days. periods of network availability but usually as sonn as you try to make a call or send a text it's goes to searching or no service. as far as the wifi goes i can get about 30 seconds after connecting to my router but then it also drops off. even more noticable is the touch screeen acting sluggish. delays in response. having to touch the screen many times before getting a result, trying to type but the wrong letters register. things like that. it's no longer a fuctioning phone and the speaker has become so muted it's not much of an ipod either.
