Why wont’t iPhone power on after replacing lightning connector?

The repair went off without a hitch. Not sure what’s going wrong that’s causing me to get no power. The screen won’t turn on at all and I’m not getting any response from the phone. Zero power. If anyone could provide some troubleshooting steps, I would really appreciate it.

update: so the phone eventually powered on for no reason. I used the wireless charger to power it on the first time and once it was on, it functioned as normal. Except…..now the primary microphone is not working. The lightning connector works fine, but the primary microphone (people can’t hear me on FaceTime, speakerphone, etc) isn’t working. Can I pretty much say I have a defective part or may there be connectors that have to line up in order for the mic to work (just a shot out of a cannon there)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may just have a defective replacement part.

  1. Try disconnecting the flex (disconnect the battery first) to see if the phone will boot.
  2. If it does, the try connecting the original flex to see if the phone will at least power on.

That should tell you if the replacement flex is causing the issue or not. You don’t need to fully disassemble the exiting one, just connect the old on in an overlapped condition.
