HP Elite Pad 900: Touch screen woes after battery replacement

Replaced battery, now touch doesn't work on touch screen. Still able to use externally connected mouse to navigate, etc. Is there somewhere the “touch” needs turned on in settings or something?

Hi @pappyk ,

Follow the steps the Chosen Solution in this link and see if it resolves the problem, don’t forget to check the “update 30/09/2106” section as well if the first section doesn’t apply.

I realize that the solution is not for your tablet but since they both are made by HP and use the Windows OS it could be very similar. Worth a look anyway.

How to reinstall touch screen driver? My touch screen stopped working.

If it still doesn’t work perhaps you should go back and check the flex cable connectors with a strong light and a magnifying glass, hopefully the connectors haven’t been damaged and are making a good connection. It is a very co-incidental failure otherwise.

@pappyk it looks like the display gets disconnected in Step 3. I would open the device back up and make sure that the ZIF connectors and ribbon cables are properly seated.

I thought of that but the screen works perfectly other than the touch function. ….
