Can I replace this connector? Keyboard connector? Backlight?

My wife spilled a small drink on my MacBook Pro A1502 2015 the other day. It was on at the time, powered down correctly. Left upside down overnight. Used it briefly the next day. Today wouldn't boot fully; crashes as soon as cursor appears on black boot screen. Just took it apart and cleaned it with alcohol as per guide. It looks to me like this connector got hot and was melted slightly. I'm assuming it's the keyboard connector but I'm an idiot. I haven't reassembled or attempted a boot yet.

What is that connector?

Can I replace it? Who could?

Other ideas/advice?

I have some experience soldering SMD but no air gun yet.

Thanks much,

That’s the keyboard backlight connector and if you’ve come that far with troubleshooting you shouldn’t have any major problem in replacing the backlight sheet, no soldering needed. I can’t see the replacement part on the ifixit store but you could find it elsewhere, there’s more than one spare parts vendor from Uk en eBay too. Only concern is that it looks quite burnt and you might also find some damage on the corresponding side of the logic board. Unless you want and have the ability to get into schematics, you’ll have to try one and see if it works.

Thank you! Yes, the board connector looks like a problem. If I was schematically inclined where would be a good place to look for that and the board side connector.

@limeandcoconut I doubt you'll find a backlight connector anywhere besides a dead board for spares. I already answered about backlight sheet.
