Home button with touch ID are not working

If the Home Button and Touch ID for an iPad Air 2 are not working.

What Part number would you recommend so I can replace them both and have the functionality of Home Button and Touch ID?

Is it even possible to replace the Home button and have the touch ID functionality?

Please give me your recommendation.

Thank you, EA

Hi eafg66,

Unfortunately, Apple devices which support TouchID won’t accept a replacement part as valid, unless it can be calibrated by specialized software in an Apple store or authorized repair shop. This process is supposedly in place to ensure the security of a device by preventing hardware hacks, but it unfortunately limits the repair options of owners on a mechanical part which is likely to fail.

That being said, you should still be able to get that home button working again, albeit without TouchID. You can order a replacement home button like this one: iPad Air 2 Home Button Assembly

Good luck with your repair!
