Black screen while backlight works, display data cable replaced.

I basicly have the same problems with my 2008 15" MBP (no unibody) as this question:

BLANK screen! Backlight OK, external OK. Sometimes(randomly) works?

The MBP was as first brought to a repair company, but when the laptop was there for over 2 weeks, the display worked fine and they ran all possible tests they could run without the screen turning black. When I got my MBP back from this company he indeed worked fine! For 2 months... the problems started again with as result no image at all. Only the black screen with the backlight on. (MBP runs fine on external display).

Now I knew it for sure, the Display Data Cable was broken. So now I decided to replace it myself. I bought the cable (MacBook Pro 15" (Models A1226/A1260) Display Data Cable) and replaced it.

Now the worse part, it still does not work! Is there anything else I can do to fix this? Can I turn the laptop on while it's opened? Can I run some faulty connector tests?

The MBP is an early 2008 model which still is working great on the internal parts :(

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hold a flashlight at an angle to the screen and when it's booted up (and hooked up to an external monitor to make sure), see if you can discern the desktop on the Mac Book.

Thank you for the reply.

I tried to see if there is an image when it's booted but no luck. The backlight is working fine, I can control the light intensity with the F2/F3 buttons.

It just seems that there is something wrong with the display data cable, but I have replaced it. Can I clean out the connectors? Or do some tests while the laptop is fully opened?
