Hi,

Try plugging in any USB device that gives an indication that it is being supplied with power from the USB port, e.g. a mobile phone that shows it is charging, a flashdrive that has a LED power light or a USB mouse with a laser light etc.

If there is no indication of power being supplied, check in Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus Controllers click on + to expand list > USB Root Hub > right click > Properties > USB Root Hub Power Management, check if the option, Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is selected.

If the option has been selected, deselect it and click OK, then restart the laptop. You need to check this on all root hub entries listed in Device Manager.

Here’s an image to show what I mean.

If there is an indication of power being supplied to a USB device have you tried uninstalling all the USB Host Controllers and restarting the laptop and allowing Windows to “find” and “install” them again?

What OS is installed in the laptop?
