My wife recently beat me over the head with my iBook,open-faced and now when I try to use it the damned hard drive runs constantly and the screen remains white. I have hooked it up to an external monitor but it doesn't receive a signal. Can my MacBook be fixed or will I have to get a new one?

Haha. Unfortunatenately I must remain faithful to her and my Mac. After all, I am married to both.
+ I think there's a recall on that model. Something about loose screws and coming unhinged.
Do you speak of the wife or the Mac?
If you get nothing on an external monitor well that's bad news. With the shock some internal components may be disconnected. You should begin taking off the ram sticks and reinsert them in the slot then try to boot the machine. If no result then no choice to open the macbook and check all internal connections.

Gee, I wonder what you were doing with your Mac to so enrage your wife. Maybe you should refrain from those sites, or were you looking for a divorce attorney? I really wouldn't get a Mac she could easily pick up again. Consider a Mac Pro. She could still use the keyboard, but replacements costs are less.
