Wont start. Power button issues

Hi.

My iPhone is having what I believe to be some issue with the Power/Sleep button being Stuck on.

While it was operating I would be unable to put the phone into sleep mode, and sometimes the 'slide to power off' bar would randomly appear.

The phone is now off (it ran out of battery) and i can no longer get it too boot. it constantly flashes up with the apple logo, before going blank again and repeating.

The power switch seems to operate correctly, so i think that i may have a short across the terminals there somewhere.

Has anyone had any experience with an issue like this, or got some idea's?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

My power button issue is with an LG TV not a cell phone. They do not relate.

Well, since it won't boot or connect, your options are a bit more limited....

If you're comfortable, open up the phone (follow steps 1-6 of this guide) and check out the power button area. Is there any obstruction with the power button?

The next step would be to replace the headphone jack assembly (which houses the power button).

Good luck!

Hi,

I don't thinks it is a hardware issue. To rule out the hardware problem, just restore your iphone in iTunes.

I cant restore since it wont boot. The Computer doesn't even recognise that the device has been connected.

if you have jailbroken your iphone then do the following:

• How to Repair Endless Boot without SSH

• Connect iphone with USB and run DiskAid

• Copy the following "mobilewatchdog.bundle" from /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/ to your desktop

• Delete the above bundle from your iPhone using the "Delete from Device" button

• Reboot and wait for springboard.

• Quickly install OpenSSH from cydia (you have 10mins before auto restart)

• Reboot again after copying back the mobilewatchdog.bundle to the iPhone using DiskAid

• Login back using SSH and change the permissions on the following

• chmod 755 /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/moilewatchdog.bundle

• chmod 755 /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/moilewatchdog.bundle/mobilewatchdog

• chmod 644 /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/moilewatchdog.bundle/info.plist

• Reboot

You need of course to download DiskAid 1st
