How to set up home network

I have a router in my living room and there is a cable that connects to dsl in the wall and there are telephone outlets throughout the house that receive telephone service once that dsl cable is plugged in. I have one in my room and I was wondering if I can use it to connect some sort of converter to use an Ethernet cable

Answer this question I have this problem too

If your home network is set up properly then you can use this particular cable to connect into the phone jack. I would at least try this and see you can get any Ethernet connection as I have this exact same cable in my bedroom too and it works great.

If you try this and it doesn’t work, your home internet is not configured the right way in order to do this. I would speak with your ISP as maybe they can set you up properly in order to do this.
