Headphone amplifier isn't working

So I just bought a headphone adapter from eBay for my pixel 2. When I plug the headphone adapter in it comes up with a notification saying this is not compatible with this phone.

Can I make it work or won't it work at all?

Options

You can try this as it seems to have worked for some people on another forum with the same issue.

  • Insert dongle/adapter into phone with no external speakers in the adapter
  • Restart phone
  • Plug headphones into dongle/adapter
  • Start Google Play Music [and, presumably, play something]

@haroldjh97 Alright. I would suggest you contact Google Support and request a new one if the adapter is a genuine Google adapter. If the adapter not a genuine Google adapter, please inform me on the make and model.
