Does the MBP 13" Unibody(v. 5, 5/mid 09) have a pram battery?

If so, does anyone know the model # for same?

Thanks for any help.

No.

The date and time may have been lost if the capacitor that holds the time and date and printer settings was discharged. Try using the automatic time set in Preferences. Then disconnect from the internet, shut down and see if it now holds the correct time on restart.

Thanks for your answer.

I did as you suggested and it is holding the correct time through shut-down and restart.

If you've got the time:

(1) What might I have done to discharge said cap?

(2) How do I know if it is going bad?

and (3) If it is going bad, is it possible to replace it? (I'm kinda rusty on the whole robotic-SMD-soldering thing, eh. ;-))

Thanks again for your help.

Completely running down the main battery and letting it sit without a charge could run it down. If it does it with a charged battery, you can live with it or send it in to someone DT&T services for a logic board repair.
