Replacing the joystick circuit board in my Xbox One S controller

I've been trying to replace the left joystick on my Xbox One S controller and failing miserably at removing the broken one with the soldering iron. So instead I want to attempt at just replacing the circuit board itself, but before I do I have a few questions.

  1. I'm going to use a circuit board from one of the older controller models for the first gen Xbox One, the one without a 3.5mm headphone jack. Will it be compatible with the Xbox One S controller I'm repairing?
  2. If it works, will the 3.5mm headphone jack still work even though the circuit board is from an older controller model?
Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Well there’s some good news, and some bad news.

The good news is that it looks as if you can put an original xbox controller board in a new controller body. Although I am not certain. Bad news is that the headphone jack will NOT work, as there is no physical connector to connect to on the older board.
