Crankshaft position sensor broken off inside its housing.

While changing the Crankshaft position sensor on my 1999 Ford Ranger 2.5l, the top broke off leaving most of it stuck inside the mounting bracket. How can I get the old sensor piece out without harming anything else? Is there an easy way to to remove the mounting bracket? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Todd. Have you removed the fan? To get to that sensor properly I believe you're going to have to remove the fan. The end of the crankshaft position sensor is magnetic, maybe if you can stick something ferrous into that hole you can pull it out.
