Won’t turn on

Hello!

My MacBook Air just won’t turn on.

I just plugged it in to charge one day and now it won’t turn back on. The charger lights up orange when it is plugged in. When the chargers plugged in and I hold down the power button at the same time it lights up green.

I had someone look at it and they said it was probably the battery or the connector to the battery and that I should buy the new one of those.

I took it to the Apple store, they said there didn’t appear to be water damage or corrosion but that the typical start up tricks weren’t working and I would have to send it off and it could be up to 700 dollars for repair, which I can’t afford.

Please help!
