You will have to desolder the old one and solder a new one on it. iPod Touch 1st Generation Logic Board Replacement follow that guide to disassemble your ipod. Good luck

I was unsuccessful in my attempt to repair the existing dock connector on a friend's iPod touch 1g, and you, too, may have to purchase a new logic board. Although I simply quit and he purchased a new device, you may be able to repair the existing connector, but be cautious not to damage the logic board, as I did. The simple answer to your question is that yes, you can "Change It".

If you instead would like to replace the logic board in it's entirety, it would be wise to simply follow the instructions posted on this site. (www.ifixit.com)
