Home button wont work on replacement screen?

I have tried two replacement screens (both from ifixit) and the home button will not work on either screen. I can install the home button on the original cracked screen and it works just fine. Could I have received two bad screens in a row? I have tried disconnecting all connections and reconnecting them several times with both screens and I have even tried seeing if the home button would recognize without screws holding it in place because I read that over tightened screws can sometimes cause it to not work correctly. The only way I can get the phone to recognize the home button is to put it back on the cracked screen.

Could this possibly be some apple software deal making it not work?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

More than likely just a couple bad screens. If the home button is still working with the original, you have to assume the new hardware is the issue. I do probably 5-10 iphone 7 and 7+ repairs a week and never had any issues from a software side of things. I do, however, run into the occasional screen where something doesn’t quite work right. I’d chock it up to bad luck of a couple screens, return them, and try another.

I really appreciate the reply! I order from ifixit because I never have those kinds of issues with parts from them. I run a IT business for small business in my town and only change a screen here and there so I don’t keep them in stock and order them as needed. Needless to say getting two bad screens over the course of 10 days for my customer was not good. I ended up directing them to the Apple store because I didn’t want to drag the process out anymore. Again I really appreciate the answer and I’m just glad it most likely wasnt me. Even though I don’t do them often I’ve repaired quite a few screens over the years and I’ve just never had anything like that happen.
