How do I disassemble my iPod 1st generation with video & pic?

Ok my 1st generation iPod with the video & pic feature was working fine. Until one of my kids tried 2 plug the connection cable, then when I tried to connect it nothing happened I looked & the pins were bent in.

So how do I disassemble my iPod so I culd straighten it out? Pls help thnx. Vince. Camarillo

vincent camarillo, you did not exactly define your device ;-). I assume that it is a iPod Touch 1st gen. The instruction are here iPod Touch 1st Generation Logic Board Replacement Sometimes you can try to use a magnifying light and a pair of surgical tweezers or a very small pick to correct the pins. Just make sure that you have a good light and that none of the pins touch after you are done with it. You will not have to disassemble your ipod for that. If that does not work you will have to solder a new dock connector on the logic board. Here is a video from youtube that shows the procedure on a 2nd gen Good Luck

your best option is to use a toothpick or a safety pin to rebend the pin from the outside. there's not an easy way to rebend them from the inside unless they've been pushed in which doesnt sound like what happened.
