Disconnecting keyboard from MacBook Air 13 A1466

I’m attempting to troubleshoot a non booting MacBook Air 13” A1466.

I read that to do a power up using the power pads I should disconnect the keyboard from the logic board. However I cannot find a way of doing this currently as all the guides are for a full keyboard replacement, any simple way of doing this?

Any help appreciated.

First you’ll need USB keyboard & mouse as you’re really disconnecting both! The newer MacBook Pro’s chain the keyboard and trackpad connections to the logic board. If you review this IFIXIT guide MacBook Air 13" Early 2015 Logic Board Replacement jump down to Step24 you’ll see the cable from the logic board goes to the trackpad and at the trackpad a ribbon cable goes to the keyboard (the cable just above the trackpad cable connection).

But before we go down this path how about filling us in on what happened and why you think this is the correct direction to go.

Hi,

Many Thanks for the response, I have accepted as the answer as this resolved the issue. Unfortunately the test did not work. My actual main issue is posted here and I am continuing to try and troubleshoot but it is looking a bit doomed.
