DEAD, No power, charger good-green light-Suggestions?

A1278, this 13” 2010 MBP appears completely dead. Won’t boot or show any signs of power with or without the Apple charger plugged in, plugged in there is a green light but I doubt the battery is fully charged. This was my sons, he doesn’t know what happened or won’t say. He says it was working when he closed the lid before bed. But in the morning it was dead like it is now. Is there a fuse on the logic board? I disconnected the battery, the green light is on whether or not the battery is plugged into the logic board. I’m thinking there must be a fuse

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Press the battery test button on the side edge and see if you get any green lights.

Disconnect the mag-safe adapter. Disconnect the battery. Press and hold the power button for ten seconds. Reconnect the battery and mag-safe. If the logic board is good you should get a spontaneous reboot.

I left the battery unplugged from the logic board for 24 hrs and charger disconnected. Pressed the power button for 10 seconds. Plugged the battery back in, pressed the power button, nothing. Then plugged in the charger, green light on the plug, pressed the battery charge indicator and all lights lit up.

But still no start up when power button is pressed.

Could the power button be broken? How do I test that.
