Hello!

Narrowing down your logic board options from your serial number, you can choose from these boards (you have a Mid 2007 Core 2 Duo).

Unless it is a coincidence, it is strange that installing Snow Leopard would cause physical damage to your machine. Were you experiencing any strange symptoms before?

Do you have the discs that came with the computer? If so, run Apple Hardware Test (boot the machine holding D, and follow the instructions). Did it test fine, or are there any errors?

Good morning,

Thank you very much for your quick answer. I have more questions.

My Mac book s/n is W8732E6VZ5V. I installed snow leopard and immediatly after finishing, it was not anymore working on the battery. The computer shows that it charges and then it is completly charged but when I unplug the magsafe, it cuts down.

I sent it to mac technical services near by me and they tried to change the battery connector but they said, it was the same. So they told me i have to change the mother board.

I just discovered on your site that there is two type of battery connectors maybe they did not try the good one. So Maybe I will try first to buy the part and do it myself.

Do you think it could be another reason that the connection with battery does not work before I go for changing the motherboard ????

Your site is really interesting and very helpful.

Do you ship parts to france ??

Thanks for your help in this matter.

Graham

Yes I think I need a dc-in component but I am not sure it will work with it because the technical shop near by me said it tried to change it but it was not working either with the new one and they propose me to change the motherboard. Maybe there is another reason for which my mac book is not working on the battery ??? have you any idea ????

Thnks again for yr kind help. I do not have the discs of the computer which came with Tiger in sept 2007 but I can get it in a few days.Like I told you before, I have installed snow leopard and I tried to run Apple hardware test as you aid. It does not work. It directly open to snow leopard. Is it because it's not the Tiger disk ???

Can I do it by another way ??

Anyway, I send you what I found about the power on my mac, maybe you can see something wrong.

Hi again, I don't think it is snow leopard which causes the problem. but when I finished to install snow Leopard, the screen was freezed and black but we could see th picture under the black screen like if the light was switched off.

There is something strange also, After taking my computer from Apple shop in France, the battery sign shows that it was charging again.... How could this be, if The computer cannot run on the battery ???

Maybe I have to change first the dc-in connector to test myself ??

Laptop batteries last ~300 Charge Cycles. Your battery has 575 Cycle Counts. Also, the full charge capacity of the battery is 5083. A new battery will start ~5100 and deplete over time. With your batteries full charge capacity at 5083 and the cycle counts at 575 it shows that the computer isn't reading the battery properly and the battery needs to be replaced.

Have you tried the computer with a known good battery? I would bet that it would work.
