What is the interface of my ODD?

System info of my iMac (model 2266) shows the interface is ATAPI. I plan to swap ODD with SSD.

I ordered SSD enclosure with SATA interface. Can I put this in the place of ODD?

I also plan to out the ODD. Can I use an outcase with SATA interface?

What is the hight of my ODD?

I opened it and found that it was actually SATA. SATA to SATA caddy is the necessary part.

You should be fine. The SATA interface is for the SSD drive, not the interface with the logic board. To check, please give a link to the optical bay adapter you ordered.

As you can see in the photo, the optical drive has a standard SATA connection. So the adapter you are looking at should plug right in.

I don't see a problem with that one working, to be sure contact the seller.

So you mean that so long as the SSD is connected to the hdd caddy with sata interface, there is no connection problem in connecting this caddy to thw logic board?

I want to be comfortable before I dismantle iMac and tear out the odd..
