hdr-cx560 has an e61;10 flashing on the screen. what does this mean?

Hi @jigaro

According to the HDR CX500 service manual an E61:10 error message indicates that the zoom lens cannot be initialized. I realize that this is not your model, but hopefully it is a close enough model for the codes to mean the same thing. (I couldn’t find a service manual for your model)

The manual doesn’t describe how to disassemble the camera to gain access to the motherboard so perhaps this link to the ifixit Sony Handycam HDR-CX580V Motherboard Replacement guide (again not your model, apologies) hopefully will be a close enough model to be of some help if you wish to disassemble the camera to check the circuit as described in the link above.

This is assuming the CX500 series cameras are very similar in circuit operation that is.
