Ps4 ADP-200ER "sea-air" damage, postmortem. how to repair?

So after exchanging the power supply Ps4 is working but i got curious to do a postmortem. Coastal city so some level of “salty air“/ “sea air“/ “maresia“ is expected, but even with outside cleaning the power brick accumulates to much internal dust. After similar problems with PS3, i decided to tell this story in hope Sony people check this and improves the design the next time!!!

Here , is a sample of oxidation found in stuck airzones and other components, like a little transformer whose left pin in the next shot had a burnt out pad (J27).

Then the problematic regions are located in the middle (previous picture show many corroded tracks ) but, these actually match this dust pattern:

Also, i don know what the air flow is supposed to be but if one use the plastic separators as guide… The actual dust pattern is mirrored!!! And there is some stuck regions, in both the plastic covers.

Anyway for my experience with ps3 power bricks, this one is better but still has bad airflow zones not only to heat dissipation but in terms of dust accumulation in a impossible way to clean.

Many things pop to mind:

The available clearance versus occupied height of some components can be explored to improve airflow like extend the horizontal capacitor legs and increase the height of the supporting element(matching the transformer height ) , so that air flows near the board and this capacitor (doubling cooling surface area/ eliminating some dust zone);

L heatsinks have to be mirrored in order to stop massively accumulating dust. These could also use more fins(surface area) and maximize the height;

In the small plastic cover the is an indentation that as the picture proves only serves to accumulate dust and in this case burn the nearest components;

The fixing help is intended to make a backup powerbrick. Thanks for the help, if is a lost case at least people can learn something.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?
